Welcome to the A6 Highways website

In 2000, the Co-operative group was granted planning permission to build a new junction on the A6 in Stockport to make it easier for customers and delivery vehicles to get to the store and its car park. The store will be closed for refurbishment in August 2010 and the store will re-open in October 2010. At the same time, highway works will take place.

Work to provide the new junction will start very shortly. This work is being carried out for, and is being financed by, the owners of the store. Once the work is completed, nearby residential roads particularly New Moor Lane, Mount Pleasant and Brewer’s Green will no longer need to be used by customers and delivery vehicles to get to the store. This will make these areas safer and quieter for residents.
